Weekly Voice Classes
with Jeffrey Umberger

Jeffrey owns the Umberger Agency, with one of the most respected voice over talent rosters in the country.  This class is for anyone interested in finding out how they might enhance the good and rich and appropriate characteristics of their natural voice and talent, and potentially help to raise the bar for them in making their auditions even more effective without sounding over-worked. Finding the right and appropriate nuance for each individual actor, along with helping to find generalities that just about anyone can apply to their voice and performance, and help to up the stakes, increase booking potential.

with Mitchell Gossett

Mitchell Gossett is one of the most respected talent agents in the Industry. Mitchell recently returned to CESD Talent Agency as the Senior Vice President of Talent/Motion Picture/Television Agent, where he has directs the agency’s Los Angeles and New York Talent Departments for Motion Pictures, Television, and Theatre. During his tenure at CESD, Mitchell built a renowned scouting operation for young talent and continues to discover the next generation of distinctive artists.  Mitchell represents some of the most successful rising stars currently working in the film and television industries. His clients can be seen in major motion pictures, and on television almost every day of the week.

Two Day Workshops
with Mark Saks

Veteran casting director Mark Saks is currently at work on "elemeNtarY" starring Jonny Lee Miller and Lucy Liu, "Madam Secretary" starring Tea Leoni and "The Good Wife" starring Julianna Margulies.  For "The Good Wife," Saks has won four Artios awards for Outstanding Achievement in Casting - Television Series, Drama and recently received his fifth Emmynomination for this much acclaimed CBS legal drama.   He has received a total of eleven Artiosnominations in various categories including comedy, drama and long form throughout his career.  Over the past twenty-five years, Saks has held executive positions at Warner Bros Television, CBS Television Studios and Sony Pictures Television.  His work in the theatre includes Broadway, Off-Broadway and regional theatre productions including nine years as the casting director for the Old Globe theatre in San Diego under the direction of Jack O'Brien.

with Shuler Hensley

If you have the opportunity to learn from an actor that has been recognized by his peers to win a Tony Award and also has an award named for him, take every chance you can.  If you do not already know who Shuler Hensly is, please take some time to look around his website, www.shulerhensley.com.  Shuler is a great talent from Atlanta and he has been very involved with the encouragement of young actors. The award in his name celebrates excellence in high school theater.

with Alpha Tyler

 

Alpha Tyler started her career as a casting intern on the feature film Titanic in 1995 and on the television series Martin, where she later became the casting assistant. After graduating with a degree in theatre from California State University Northridge, a suburb of Los Angeles, she never looked back. She became the casting assistant on many television pilots and series and with several studios such as Warner Bros. Universal Studios, DreamWorks and Paramount Studios. Her most exciting project was on the Spike Lee film He Got Game. In 2007, after a move to Atlanta, she became the casting director for Tyler Perry Studios for 4 ½ years. In 2011 she made a move to BET Networks

with Craig Wallace

It was while working at one of the top talent agencies in Los Angeles that Craig started to think about teaching. He saw how important it was for actors to have a strong and dependable technique to guide them through the entire audition process and felt that he had the hands on industry experience that could create just that technique. So, drawing on his work in script development, talent development, his time at the agency, and with additional input from his casting, producing and agent friends, The Wallace Audition Technique was born.

with Scott Jones

In 2012 Scott Jones started Out Of Your Head Improv, developing classes where kids and teens could discover how improv can be used as a tool to help create unique and dynamic performances. These classes highlight his desire to help inspire young performers confidence on stage.  Mr. Jones was born and raised outside of Atlanta, Georgia.  He attended Florida State University’s School of Theater, where he studied acting while also writing and performing stand-up comedy. He was a member of the schools improv troupe, The Whammo Players, which toured all over Florida.  Scott also studied theater in London’s West End, before graduating with a B.A. in Performing Arts in 2001.  He has studied improv at The Groundling and The Upright Citizens Brigade Theater.  He performed stand-up all over Los Angeles, including at The Laugh Factory, Comedy Store, and The Icehouse. 

 

A Two Day Adult Acting Workshop
with Casting Director Aisha Coley

As a casting director, Aisha Coley has worked in film, theater and television. Her latest work includes Beyond the Lights and the Oscar and Golden Globe nominated film Selma.
Starting at Lincoln Center Theater in New York, Aisha cast both Broadway and off-Broadway theater before working in feature films as a casting associate on Malcolm X, Devil in a Blue Dress, Enemy of the State, Crime of the Century, as well as David Fincher’s hit film Se7en. Her casting director credits include the NAACP Image Award winning The Secret Life of Bees, Love and Basketball, Bamboozled, He Got Game, 25th Hour, Perfume, Stranger Inside for HBO, Akeelah and the Bee, Middle of Nowhere and The Cosby Show. A former VP of Casting for Twentieth Century Fox, Aisha has additionally served for 5 years as a member of thenominating committee for Film Independent’s Spirit Awards. 

 


A Two Day Workshop for Young Actors
with Matt Fletcher

Matt is the Director of the Youth Division at TalentWorks. He began his career in the entertainment business nearly15 years ago. Matt specializes in developing and maintaining the careers of children and young adults. During his tenure Matt also spent sometime as a talent manager, before returning back to the talent agent business. You can currently see Matt’s clients on television series such as “Bella and the Bulldogs,” “Mad Men,” “Kickin It” “Finding Carter” and the new hit “Scorpion” to name a few. Matt also currently has clients in numerous feature films including Sundance favorite “Kings of Summer,” “Despicable Me 2,” and “Ender’s Game” with Hailee Steinfeld and Harrison Ford, along with the mega hit “Frozen” and upcoming films “Fantastic Four,” “Terminator: Genisys” and the remake of “Ben Hur” Matt holds a BA in Theatre from the University of Kentucky.
